| dc.description | This thesis explores how the concept of sovereignty can be redefined to gain a better understanding how this concept operates outside the domain of law. I usedMichel Foucault’s works on power and Hannah Arendt’s approach to authority. I arguedthat sovereignty is a complex set of discourses that providesknowledge needed for the existence of state political institutions and general political activity. | dc.description.abstract | Antud töö eesmärgiks oli välja töötada alternatiivne lähenemine suveräänsuse mõistest rääkimisele. Selleülesande täitmiseks valisin Michel Foucault’ja Hannah Arendtiteooriad võimust ja autoriteedist. Kumbki autor onkritiseerinud suveräänsuse mõistet, aga pole kirjutanud otseselttöid suveräänsuse mõiste kohta. Siinkohal avaneb võimalus täita see lünk.Tõlgendades suveräänsuse mõistetFoucault’ja Arendtiteooriate valguses, saabki kujundada alternatiivse lähenemise suveräänsusele.
